We start on a limestone ledge while the light is still soft, then walk the bluff as it turns gold. You can talk. The kids can move between frames. I will tell you when to look over and when to forget the camera is there. You leave with photographs that feel like the afternoon, not a lineup.

Senior portraits
Seniors bring a couple of outfits and we use them. A hayfield at sunset, then a quiet stretch of downtown Jamestown if the light holds. Hands in pockets is a perfectly good picture. You do not have to invent a personality for the camera.

Minis, maternity, newborn, engagement
Fall and spring minis are twenty minutes and one good spot. Maternity and newborn sessions happen at home, by a window, with no rush. Engagements are a walk — a dock, a bluff, the long light. If you are camera-shy, say so. That is most of the people I photograph.

I am Lena. I live in Jamestown and I photograph families who usually apologize for not being photogenic. Most of the work happens in the last hour of light, on a bluff or in a hayfield, with Lake Cumberland somewhere behind you. I will tell you what to do with your hands. You can talk, laugh, and look away from the camera. The pictures still come out like you.
We move the time. Light after a storm on the lake is often better than the first plan, and I would rather wait a day than ask you to smile under a tarp.
Then we will not make them. The pictures people frame are usually the in-between ones — a look at a parent, a laugh that was not for the camera. A toddler who will not smile still has a Christmas card in there.
A full session comes back as a private online gallery, usually forty to sixty finished photographs, two weeks later. Minis are a smaller set from those twenty minutes. Every session includes a print release. These counts are demo numbers for this template.
Then you are in the right place. I will not ask you to perform. We walk, we talk, and I take the pictures while you are busy being with your people.
